WESTERN KY AX RULES
NOTE: WE FOLLOW AMA GUIDELINES
THESE SUBLEMENTAL RULES MAY SUBSIDE AMA RULES according to the discretion of Western Kentucky Arenacross Staff.
1. Absolutely NO Pit Riding. This is strictly enforced. No warning will be given. You will be asked to leave if caught pit riding.
2. All Quads must have a kill cord, and VISIBLE numbers on the front and back of their quad.
3. Your age as of January 1st will be the age group in which you will run for that series. You are allowed to race UP (in age appropriate classes) but you may never race down. Once you pick the class you will be racing you will finish the season in that class. NO class jumping.
4. Small bike riders can only ride in the Jr OR Sr class. They can NOT ride both.
• EX: 50cc 4-6 (JR) and 50cc 7-8 (SR) you must pick one or the other.
5. FIGHTING- Riders AND/OR Rider’s family, and anyone associated with the rider that is involved in any fighting will be disqualified for the event and asked to not return.
6. Emergency and Track Personal are the ONLY ones permitted on the track while a race or practice is in progress. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED!
• Exception: ONE 50 parent per RIDER is allowed on the track DURING your riders race.
7. Riders must be signed up before entering the track, anyone caught sneaking on to the track will be asked to leave with no return! NO EXCEPTIONS!
8. There is a $10 FEE for anyone that signs up after 10AM or when changing classes. No refunds once practice has begun.
9. The Rider’s Meeting before the heats is MANDATORY; failure to attend could result in disqualification.
10. Any issues that transpire throughout the night need to be handled in the office. Please ask for Dylan or Felicia Cox.
11. ONE transponder is REQUIRED per rider. Rather it be rented or owned, they will be checked at the starting gate.
12. If you encounter technical difficulties on the starting gate, you must raise your hand to stop the card from being turned, you will then have 2 minutes to resolve the issue, or the race will resume.
13. STRIDER BIKE CLASS- Closed toed shoes and a helmet is required. (Bike helmets are permitted.)
14. STACYC BIKE CLASSES- Closed toed shoes and FULL FACE helmet required. (NO bike helmets allowed).
- If racing a 50jr or above a rider cannot ride in the stacyc 12edrive class.
-If racing a 16e drive stacyc or above cannot race in the strider bike class.
15. YELLOW FLAG- NO passing, and NO Jumping until you have passed the down rider! THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED. You will be docked positions or disqualified.
16. RED FLAG- Return to the starting gate if the race is less than ½ over. Exit the track safely if the race is more than ½ over. Track personal will escort you off the track.
17. RED CROSS FLAG- RIDER INJURED! NO passing and NO jumping. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED! You will be docked positions or disqualified.
18. BEGINNER CLASS BIG BIKES/QUADS - ONE YEAR OR LESS racing experience. If you raced a Beginner class the previous year you will not be allowed to ride a Beginner class for the current year!
19. CHECK YOUR RESULTS- Protest periods are for 20 minutes. All issues with the race and scoring must be handled in that window or will not be considered for reevaluation.
20. IT IS THE DUTY AND RESPONSIBILITY OF THE RIDER TO DETERMINE THE CLASS IN WHICH HE OR SHE BELONGS. WHATEVER CLASS YOU RACE OUTDOORS IS YOUR CLASS INDOORS. EXAMPLE: C CLASS OUTDOORS = NOVICE (C) IN ARENACROSS.
21. OFFICIALS MAY MOVE RIDERS UP BASED ON WRITTEN OR PUBLISHED PROOF THAT THE RIDER HAS COMPETED IN A HIGHER CLASS.
22. OFFICIALS WILL NOT MOVE SOMEONE UP JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE FAST.
23. YOU MUST HAVE PROOF THAT A RIDER RODE IN A HIGHER CLASS. NOTE: A LOWER CLASS HAD TO HAVE BEEN OFFERED AT THAT EVENT AS AN OPTION.
24. IF YOU ENTER AN EVENT AND DO NOT QUALIFY FOR THE MAIN IT STILL COUNTS TOWARDS YOUR REQUIRED # OF RACES FOR END OF YEAR AWARDS.
25. PICKING YOUR GATE:
IF YOU ARE NOT IN STAGING WHEN GATE PICKS START FOR YOUR RACE, YOU WILL GET LAST GATE PICK. IF YOU ARE HAVING BIKE PROBLEMS, SEND SOMEONE TO PICK AND HOLD YOUR GATE FOR YOU.
26. A MALFUNCTION OF THE STARTING GATE WILL BE THE RACE OFFICIALS DECISION.
27. IF FOR ANY REASON THE RACE MUST BE STOPPED IT WILL BE CONSIDERED COMPLETE IF THE LEADING RIDER HAS COMPLETED OVER 50% OF THE LAPS. EXAMPLE: 3 LAPS COMPLETED IN A 5 LAP RACE.
28. LAPPED RIDERS MUST MOVE OVER OR BE BLACK FLAGGED.

29. VET CLASSES: AGE IS DETERMINED AS OF EVENT DATE.
30. ANY VERBAL HARASSMENT OR PHYSICAL ABUSE OF OFFICIALS WILL BE GROUNDS FOR PERMANENT DISQUALIFICATION.
31. A RIDER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ACTIONS OF THEIR PIT CREW. INFRACTIONS BY RIDERS PIT CREW OR ASSOCIATED SPECTATORS WILL BE GROUNDS FOR PENALTIES AGAINST THAT RIDER.
32. NO MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED.
33. CASH ONLY, NO CHECKS ACCEPTED. NO EXCEPTIONS.
34. 5 MPH speed limit (1st gear) in all pit areas, NO BURNOUTS IN GRAVEL PERIOD! DON'T START YOUR MOTORCYCLES IN THE BUILDING OR INDOORS PIT. WARM THEM UP OUTSIDE. THE ONLY PLACE YOUR MACHINE SHOULD BE RUNNING IS ON THE TRACK OR WHEN THE RACE DIRECTOR INSTRUCTS YOU TO START YOUR ENGINE.
35. FLAGGING IS DONE IN SECTIONS. NO DOUBLING OR PASSING IN A YELLOW FLAG SECTION. RED FLAG STOPS RACE AND RACE IS STARTED OVER. NO IMPROVING POSITION UNDER YELLOW FLAG. PENALTY IS A MINIMUM ONE POSITION UP TO ONE LAP PER INFRACTION.
36. YOU CAN NOT RIDE A DIFFERENT BIKE IN YOUR HEAT AND MAIN WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL FROM THE RACE DIRECTOR. (CHANGING OF BIKES CAN ONLY BE DUE TO CATASTROPHIC FAILURE TO THE BIKE). YOU MUST FINISH THE RACE ON THE SAME BIKE YOU STARTED ON.
37. GATE PICK IS DETERMINED BY RANDOM COMPUTER DRAW FOR HEATS. YOUR HEAT FINISH WILL DETERMINE YOUR MAIN GATE PICK ORDER.
39. ALL RIDERS IN ALL CLASSES MUST WEAR A HELMET AND BOOTS.
40. IT TAKES AT LEAST THREE BIKES TO MAKE A CLASS. IF ANY CLASS HAS LESS THAN 3-4 ENTRIES THE FIRST TWO ROUNDS OFFICIALS HAVE THE RIGHT TO DROP THE CLASS FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SEASON.
41. BIKE IDENTIFICATION: ALL BIKES/QUADS MUST HAVE VISIBLE NUMBERS TO BE SCORED.
42. #1 PLATES ARE RESERVED FOR PRIOR YEARS CHAMPIONS
43. NOT EVERYONE MAKES IT TO THE MAIN. THE NUMBER OF GATES ON THE LINE DETERMINES HOW MANY WILL RIDE IN THE MAIN. ALL AMATEUR RACERS WILL RACE AT LEAST TWO TIMES A NIGHT. IF YOU DO NOT TRANSFER DIRECTLY TO THE MAIN YOU WILL GO TO THE LCQ. THE REST OF THE MAIN EVENT LINE UP WILL BE FILLED WITH THE QUALIFIERS FROM THE LCQ. IF A QUALIFYING RACER DROPS OUT OF THE MAIN, THERE WILL BE NO ALTERNATES. IF YOU DO NOT MAKE A MAIN EVENT YOU WILL RECEIVE 0 POINTS.
44. LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ALLOWED EVEN AFTER QUALIFYING. UNTIL GATE IS FILLED -1ST COME FIRST SERVED. THESE RIDERS WILL TAKE ANY REMAINING LAST GATE AFTER THE QUALIFIED RIDERS TAKE THEIR GATE IN A MAIN EVENT. THEY WILL FILL THE LCQ IF THEY GET THERE IN TIME TO MAKE THE LCQ
45. YARD QUAD CLASS- YARD QUAD ONLY. NO DRR, APEX, COBRA, OR PITSTER ALLOWED. NO QUAD ALLOWED WITH RACE SETUP (TRACK OWNER'S DISCRETION).
• -ELIGIBLE QUADS INCLUDE: KASEA YARD, SUZUKI Z50, Z90, YAMAHA RAPTOR 50, 80, 90, HONDA TRX70, TRX90, JAPANESE/CHINESE MODELS THAT ARE 90CC OR LESS, POLARIS OUTLAW 50, 90, KAWASAKI KFX50, KFX90, CANAM DS70, 90.
46. Quiet Time 11pm
47. Late Sign Up is ACCEPTED until Main Events start - $10 LATE FEE will be added on
48. Pro Classes are 100% Payback. If 5 or more riders sign up for a Pro Class the following payout will be awarded:
1st: $250
2nd: $150
3rd: $100
4th: $75
5th: $50
POINTS CHAMPIONSHIP RULES & AWARDS
• MUST RACE AT LEAST 9 OF 11 RACES TO QUALIFY FOR CHAMPIONSHIP BANQUET AWARDS.
• BANQUET TROPHIES WILL BE AWARDED TO TOP 5 IN ALL CLASSES. TOP 10 FOR 85CC & BELOW BIKE CLASSES.
• IF A TIE IS RECORDED IN THE FINAL POINTS STANDING THE TIE BREAKER WILL BE THE LAST RACE. THE LAST MOTO IS THE TIE BREAKER. THE BEST FINISH IN THE LAST RACE WILL DETERMINE THE CLASS CHAMPION.
• DNS THE MAIN EVENT WILL RESULT IN 0 POINTS.
• IF YOU ENTER AN EVENT AND DO NOT QUALIFY FOR THE MAIN IT STILL COUNTS TOWARDS YOUR REQUIRED # OF RACES FOR END OF YEAR AWARDS BUT YOU WILL RECEIVE 0 POINTS.
• MUST ATTEND BANQUET TO RECEIVE AWARDS OR MAKE ARRANGEMENTS TO HAVE THEM PICKED UP. WE WILL NOT MAIL OUT AWARDS.
ALL 50cc CLASSES, STRIDER BIKES, & STACYC BIKE CLASSES RECEIVE AN AWARD!
